Featuring Yamaha's D-PRE discrete Class-A microphone preamps, the MG20 uses an inverted Darlington circuit design to deliver detailed, natural sound with low distortion, powerful low frequencies, and smooth high-frequency reproduction. Custom MG01 operational amplifiers further support clear, high-resolution audio performance across a variety of sound sources.

The MG20 includes 1-knob compressors that make dynamic control simple and accessible. With a single rotary control, users can help manage vocal levels, tighten bass lines, and add punch to instruments without the complexity of traditional external compression equipment. Three-band equalization on mono channels and high-pass filters provide additional control over tone and unwanted low-frequency noise.

Designed for flexible professional mixing, the MG20 offers four group buses, a stereo bus, and four AUX sends, including effects routing. Balanced XLR outputs, multiple microphone and line inputs, stereo RCA inputs, and monitor and headphone connections make it suitable for a wide range of audio setups.

With switchable +48V phantom power, PAD switches on mono inputs, a universal 100–240V power supply, and an included rack-mount kit, the Yamaha MG20 is a versatile solution for musicians, sound engineers, production companies, venues, and professional audio installations.
